Flux in colours and Beads of courage

The Diva challenge #221 is to use some colour in your work.  I don't use colour very often in my work, but I bought some coloured fineliners a few weeks ago.  "Nature colours" is mentioned on the package, and I like the colours very mux.  So, I decided to use them voor my tile this week.  I made a monotangle with Flux in colours, as Flux is this weeks challenge of the Square One facebookgroup.

Not an easy challenge previous week, these beads of courage.  It's challenge #221 of the I-am-the-Diva site, to make a tile with the beads of courage the children get in the hospital when they have any kind of investigation there.  In Belgium, the children don't get beads, but often a little toy.  But I like the idea of beads, so I really wanted to participate to this one.

But... trying and trying to get some nice beads or pearls on my tile.  Here is my final result that is more or less okay.  So I can stop trying now and move on the the next challenge !

Challenges Square One June

We are soon leaving for our hollidays in Wales. So time to quickly post my tiles I made for the Square One group in June.

week one: Msst
Not one of my fovorites.  I have difficulties to combine it with other patterns. But after a few trials, this came up.  And now it's one of my favourites.  I had some nice comments and a lot of likes whe I posted in in the facebook group.

week two: Flux
a pattern I use often in my zentangles. Here in combination with printemps.

Week three: Umble
A new pattern for me and I found it quit difficult.  But I am quit happy with the result.

Week four: Meer
Also a new pattern for me but I like this one very much. You'll see it in my tiles in the future I 'm sure !

From my daughter to me - from me to my daughter

My daugther made a beautiful zentangle tile for me.  I surely want to publish it on my blog.  She had some free time some weekends ago, and made this one for me.  Mostly she creates new patterns, and uses zentangle to pimp her school books.  But now she decided to make a 'complete' tile once.  Very nice result.  Thank you Esther ! And for you a happy birthday today and good luck now with your exams.

Challenges Square One May

The month did pass realy quickly.  I can't believe whe are already in June.  Still some exams for the children and then there are already the summer hollidays.  I post my tiles I made in May for the facebook group Square one.

Week one: cubine
I did not like cubine in the beginning, it was to static for me.  But, then I played a bit with it and tried some variations, and yes I got some quit nice results.  I made two tiles with it.

Week two: zinger
Oh, this is also a lovely pattern. I used it together with Featherfall van Bunzo.

Week three: bunzo
One of my favorites - I used is already last week - so i made different tiles.  I wanted to create some bunzo worms coming out of the black holes.  And after some trying it succeeded quit well.

Week tree: purk
One of the patterns I learned in the beginning. So a chance here to use and practice again.

Week four: Rain
Finaly, my tile is finished today.  Due to the fact that I'm not using the standard format of 3,5 inch (9cm), but making a bigger one - more a ZIA of 20cm square - it took a little longer. But here is Rain together with Pokeleaf, Nzeppel, Printemps, Knightbridge and some new patterns I learned like Drupe, Antidots, Eddy Per

Baby Q in memoriam

I was so pleased a while ago to post a tile for Baby Q, the newborn elephant in Planckendael.  You can find it on my blog (May 2015). And we already planned a visit with the children to have a look at him. But from the beginning there ware some messages that he dit not do it very well and his mam would'nt take car of him.  And yes, he had bad luck with his health (disfunctioning liver) , and he died after a month on May 22.

So, the day I heard the sad news, immediately a sketch came up in my mind and I put it in my pocket book and worked it out later that evening.  I posted it on the facebook page of Planckendael as a kind of memorial and support for the people who took care of him there.  As I checked out my blog today, I saw I did'nt post the tile here yet, so I do it now.
