Spiral

The challenge posted on the Diva website this week (challenge #210) is to use a spiral this week.  Oh, I love that, so thank you Laura for this challenge.  I used already often a spiral in my tiles.  You can find them all on my blog.

This week, I made a spiral with the patterns Aquafleur, Purk, Frillee and Squid.  And oh yes, in the corners Tipple with some spirals in it.

Spring is green

Spring is green !
That is the challenge of the Diva this week (#209).  "Spring is arriving, so Green Up your tile."

I used a green pen for my featherfall, and left all the rest in black pen.  So my featherfall really 'springs' out of my tile. I used also Phicops and some leaves of quandary - falling as blossom.

And here... yesterday is was really spring, a lot of sunshine and quite warm.  But today again cold, all day cloudy.  Yes, in March we can not expect already to much good weather :).  But nice we can think of it while tangling !

Here you can see all the tiles posted on the Diva site for this challenge:

Tea cups

Here are my zentangled tea cups.  I used the Posca pens I bought last week, and put the cups subsequently in a hot oven for about 45 minutes.  My housemates like the result very much - and me too !  I hope the drawings last a bit - also after putting the cups in the dishwasher.  That was not mentioned in the brochure... We'll see and I'll let you know ;)

And ... we enjoied of course the first spring sunshine here today.  Really really nice weather for a little bicycle tour. And we were not alone :)

Zentangled shopping bag

Last Sunday I went to an open house day of a store where they sell all kinds of drawing material, paper, pens  etc.  My friend - who introduced me to Zentangle - gave a demonstration of zentangle with some material of the store.  So I went to see her and to look at the material she used.

She had some nice pens of Posca you can use on almost any material: paper, textile, glass, wood, china ...  Very nice !  I could try it there on a flower pot she brought with her.  Thank you Ingrid !  I looked for some pens I could use on a textile shopping bag, and I also want to zentangle my breakfast tea cups - as I saw some examples on the internet.  This was just what I needed.

At home, I tried it out the pens on some different materials and then I zentangled my bag.  Here it is.  Nice, don't you think ?

I'll try to do my tea cups this weekend :)

Challenges February Square One

Time to post my tiles for the Square one challenges of February.  Here they are:

First week: Quandary
While practicing Quandary, I had to think also about other 'flower' patterns, like Flutter en Flower Vine.

Second week: Well
Well... turned out to be a nice pattern with a lot of possibilities for variations.  I used two variations together with Paradox, and it turned out very WELL.

Third week: Huggins
My huggins did'nt turn out very well this week.  I made a mistake in the beginning, but as there are no mistakes in zentangle, it just turned out in another variation of Huggins.  Here together with River and Keeko.
And as we are in February.. I made another tile in my scetchbook with Huggins and Heartvine and Heartline.  I post it also here.

Fourth week: Strircles
I made a tile with Flormeoba which I love and makes me think of poppies and our summer holiday last year.  I gave it a nice contrast with the Strircles in the background.
