I already follow the zentangle group Ornation Creation of Ben Kwok for a while (Facebook Ornation Creation). He publishes each week an amazing template you can use for your zentangle work. I already made some animals using his templates, you can find them earlier on my blog. Now I decided to use some mandala templates. Oh that was quite a challenge ! But I like the results very much. I hope you enjoy them too.

Reticula Challenge #295
The Diva Challenge this week (#295) is the same as the previous week, so to use a grid as base and fill it up with a design of your own. The challenge is to make a 'Reticula' tile. I did not participate last week, but I decided to go for it this week and I had some free time this afternoon. My daughter invited a friend for playing this afternoon, so more free time for me !
For this week's challenge we have to choose a design that is asymmetrical. Then alternate the design inside the grid - creating another more complex pattern!

Tête Cubiste from Marthe Donas
A few weeks ago, there was a picture of one of the works of Marthe Donas (1885 - 1967) in the newspaper, as an advertisement for an exhibition in BOZAR (Brussels). Immediately as I saw it, I wanted to make a zentangle drawing of it.
This work from her Avant Garde period is 'Tête Cubiste' (1917), and it is exposed for the moment in the BOZAR in Brussels. My husband and I are going to see the exhibition soon. It took a while before it was finished, because I'm not used to work on this large format (27 x 36cm). But I'm pleased with the result.
And here the original.

Challenges Square One September 2016
We had quit a stressful month September (due to the school start and illness of myself and my husband). But, I was glad I could 'escape' sometimes in the challenges of this month.
Beeline
This is a pattern I already know from the beginning of my zentangle period. So I surely made a tile with it.
Crezendo
A not-so-easy Crezendo with Tipple as background.
FiFe (FiVe)
I always thought the name of the pattern was Five, but now I see it is in fact Fife. I made a nice Fife tile in the round, with a dew drop in the middle.
Garlic Cloves
Lovely pattern is this ! For my tile I was inspired by our kitchen placemats

Eifel Mountains Germany
We spent our family holliday this year in Germany, more specific in the Vulcan Eifel Mountains near Daun. It's a beautiful region, we did some nice walks there. We mostly had (very) good weather, so relaxing by and swimming in one of the Vulcan lakes was also on our program. I made some nice tiles there in a lovely summer-sketchbook, and I publish them here as a reminder to our Holliday.

Hathi and other animals
A while ago I discovered the templates of Ben Kwok he publishes weekly in the Ornation Creation Facebook group. Facebook Ornation Creation. The published templates are lovely to zentangle. You can also find a photo gallery with results of other tanglers there. Mostly it are templates about animals, and I selected a few of them to create some nice tiles for my children.
The Elephant (#048) for my oldest daughter, who's scouting name is Hathi.
A horse (#022) for my youngest daughter, she still is in her horse-period... It was an experiment with colour pencils, but I prefer black & white overall.
And also a rabbit (#003)for her, because she received a real rabbit to nurse for last month. She gave him the name Nestor.
The squirell (#006) I liked very much, so I made that one for myself
And at last the Dachshund (#170). Not an easy one this, I had to try it two times before I could publish the result. The first dog was really ugly, but this one I'm pleased with.

Challenges Square One July 2016
The challenges of this summer month:
week 1: Brrst
A new pattern, and I saw some faces in it.
week 2: Cornerz
That's also a new one for me. A very nice pattern to experiment with, I'll surely use this again.
week 3: B-Dylan
I did participate to this challenge, but as I used colour in it, I could not publish it in the Square One facebook group. Instead, it was in fact a tile for the Diva Challenge. But I'll give it here anyway.

week 4: Echoism
A pattern I already know for a long time, so always nice to use it again and try something different.

Round in circles
For the Diva Challenge #277 with the theme 'round in circles' I used Striping. And finally I could make the tile of which I made a sketch already a while ago. I saw it on TV as the background of The Voice singing contest. Really zen to create this one.

Challenges Square one May-June 2016
I'm a bit behind in posting the tiles I made for the Square One Pure Zentangle facebookgroup. They hang out in my kitchen, but I did not yet have time to publish something on my blog. I'll try to dot it now.
May week1 - Ruutz
It already seems a long time ago. I made two tiles with Ruutz, the second one with a more rounded end and better shading.
May week 2: Batumber
A new tangle to me, and a very nice one. I tried to make it in some circles and I like my result.
May week 3 - Fugu
Not one of my favorites, but I tried it anyway
May week 4 - IX
I did not participate this week
May week 5 - Bales
Yes, an old one to me. One of the first I learned, and I still like it and use it a lot
June week 1 - Bales
Still Bales, so a good oppurtunity to use this tangle again and to make something new with it. Yes, great result !
June week 2 & 3 - Rundle & Groovy
Thinking of football in not hard during the European Championship is France, so my Rundle ended up in (foot)balls.
And Groovy is also a pattern I already know for a long time and gives it a nice background.
June week 4 - Merryweather
We in Belgium hope sincerely better weather is coming...
