Lighthouse - Diva challenge #229

It's a while ago I made a post for the weekly Diva challenge, but the challenge of this week #229 had my attention.  (And also because of the time I can spend during the holliday's ofcourse)  The guest blogger Sandy Hunter asks us to focus on the white part on your tile.

I still had a sketch in my sketch book that I dit not work out so far, and I thought is was perfect for this challenge.  It is a sketch of a new modern lighthouse that was build in Oostende (at the sea side in Belgium), and my husbend and I  saw it during our Easter holliday's there .  It had a big red pattern on the front, and I decided just to leave that part white in my tile, so it draws your attention.  I used Betweed, ING, Crescent moon, pearls for the lighthouse.  For the background I used Shattuck and Paradox.

I also post my tile for the previous challenge #228 of guest blogger Cari Sultanik, where we had to make a tile which looks organic or natural.  I post here my Cirquital tile I made last week for the Square One facebook group.  It it full of natural elements.

Welsh beach stones

I collected some nice stones on the beaches in North Wales when we spended our hollidays there because I wanted to zentangle them.  It is not that easy than working on paper, but it gives a nice result. I use my special Posca pens for it.

Here my first zentangled stone.  I tried different patterns, and also used some white to give it some 'shadow'.

The next one was a gift to my sister, who passed their hollidays in the cottage next door.  It was really nice to spend our hollidays with their family ! Our children enjoied it a lot.  Here I wanted to create some circular patterns on one side , and on the back side I searched for a pattern that reflected the Snowdon they mounted on.

The last one I zentangled was a gift to the owners of the cottage.  It was a pitty we didn't see the lady anymore, because whe left so early.  But I left my stone on the window sill of the living room in the cottage.

At home, I'm going to do some other stones I collected.  I'll post them later on as soon as they are finished.

Holliday notebooks

We pass our hollidays in Wales this year. It's quit a trip for us , and when the children where younger we had the habbit to give them some little presents on the road to keep them bussy. It was pre-i-pad time period ! Now they are grown up and can look a movie or play games on the i-pad so we don't give presents anymore. But i had a surprise this year and gave them each a little notebook.

After a few days here they asked me to zentangle the front of their notebooks. Here you can see the result.

I also zentangled some stones but I'll post them later.

Tipple in hot circels

Here is my Tipple for the divachallenge this week. I use tipple a lot but never made a monotangle with it. I decided to make some nice variations in circels.
I made my tile in the afternoon when it was too hot (32 to 35C !) to go outside. We are not used to these high temperatures in Belgium. So some tangling is very fun and relaxing during the warmest hours of the day when we have to stay inside the house.

Summer zentangle on an arm

First day of the summer hollidays and very hot in Belgium ! For the children it means playing outside in the swimming pool and doing all kind of 'holliday-stuf'.  Like... my youngest asked me to zentangle her arm. Which I did, I used the pattern Henna Drum for it in some nice colours.

Flux in colours and Beads of courage

The Diva challenge #221 is to use some colour in your work.  I don't use colour very often in my work, but I bought some coloured fineliners a few weeks ago.  "Nature colours" is mentioned on the package, and I like the colours very mux.  So, I decided to use them voor my tile this week.  I made a monotangle with Flux in colours, as Flux is this weeks challenge of the Square One facebookgroup.

Not an easy challenge previous week, these beads of courage.  It's challenge #221 of the I-am-the-Diva site, to make a tile with the beads of courage the children get in the hospital when they have any kind of investigation there.  In Belgium, the children don't get beads, but often a little toy.  But I like the idea of beads, so I really wanted to participate to this one.

But... trying and trying to get some nice beads or pearls on my tile.  Here is my final result that is more or less okay.  So I can stop trying now and move on the the next challenge !
