Tea cups

Here are my zentangled tea cups.  I used the Posca pens I bought last week, and put the cups subsequently in a hot oven for about 45 minutes.  My housemates like the result very much - and me too !  I hope the drawings last a bit - also after putting the cups in the dishwasher.  That was not mentioned in the brochure... We'll see and I'll let you know ;)

And ... we enjoied of course the first spring sunshine here today.  Really really nice weather for a little bicycle tour. And we were not alone :)

Mother and daughter - Using new material

The Diva challenge #206 this week is to use some new tools and material to create a zentangle.  As I am not an artist, and don't have much other material to zentangle than my tiles and my fineliners not an easy challenge. Although... I do have some black paper, and some thick silver felt pens which I bought for Christmas but did not use.  What if I use these now ? Here is the result with two silver pens of 1mm and af 2mm and the pattern Fricle. Quite different though to create a tile with these pens !

On the other hand, my daughter is really an expert in using tools and material to create all kinds of stuff.  Since she knows the zentangle technique, she tries it out on differt things.  She has some beautiful results on schrinking paper with a thick black felt pen.  She makes all kinds of juwerly with is, here you see some examples of her zentangle-earings. She used Featherfall, Kaleido, and Holly

Keep it simple with a wish - challenge #198

This weeks Diva Challenge #198 is 'to keep it simple, stupid' (KISS).  What is simple to me ? A simple pattern, lot's of white space on the tile.  Not much thinking while drawing, but still enough contrast and a nice border.
Just as in life: I wish you some simple things, white space to fill in as you pleace and sometimes a bit of contrast and going outside the border as the finishing touch.

I used a simplifyed version of fricle for the border, and Indy-Rella in the middle.  A bit of shadow, and that' it. Simple and nice looking !
