Challenges Square One March

Already spring, but the weather is not good in March here.  A lot of wind and rain and no sunshine... so perpect weather to tangle !

Week one (and two): Yuma
Not really my favorite, but it becomes better and better.

Week three: Akoya
I already used it a couple of times, but I did not know the name of the pattern.  So thank you Square One for this focus, and learning me names of new patterns !

Week four: Knightsbridge
Easter holliday's !
While the children were on their holliday's, my husbund and I also made a little trip to s' Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands), for the exposition of Jeronimus Bosch.  Before and after I had the time to make this nice tile, and took the picture on the catalogue of the exposition.

Z for Zoë

We bring our youngest daughter every week to a donkey farm since the Christmas holidays.  She follows there each week a session with a personal trainer to work on her self confidence and to improve her social behavior and skills.  These donkeys are trained to work with children, and she loves it very much.  You can find the link to the donkey farm here http://www.kampenhoeve.com/

Since a few weeks, she gets her session sometimes together with another girl Zoë.   While I'm waiting on the farm, I usually make some zentangles and Zoë saw my little sketch book I use. She loved the drawings, and asked me last week to make a tile with a Z for her, as she saw the example of my A in the sketch book.  So I made her a tile and you can see it here.  After the Easter holidays on the next session I can give it to her.  I think she'll be very pleased with it.

And here my A

Challenges Square One Pure Zentangle February 2016

week 1: Printemps
A nice one I already know for a long time and also use quit often.

week 2: Heartswell
I participated at the Diva Challenge first, and used my Heartswell there.  Not on the 3,5" format... so I did not publish it in the Square One facebook group but you can find it on my blog.

But I wanted to make another hearts tile and came up with this , a shifted Heaetswelll. Well well ... Looks very nice !

Week 3: Narwal
 One of my favourites !

Week 4: Zonked
A new one to me.

Kemmel walk

We visited Heuvelland (Belgium) last weekend.  We wanted to have a nice weekend with some friends already in October, but due to the renovation of our living room we postponed our plans for a trip til now.  It's a nice and very beautiful, quit area where you can do a lot of walks.  The landscape goes up-and-down, so some of the walks demand some effort !

The second day, one of the friends became sick (flew), so we ended our weekend Sunday at noon.  But that was not so terrible, we already did the things we wanted to do together. To have some nice memory at our trip and  to cheer her up, I made her a zentangle of the walk we did on Saturday.

Evolution

I started with Zentangle in april 2014, and took the time this week to look to my earliest tiles.  That's the Diva Challenge of this week (#255): 'go back into your own archives and recreate a tile from your past with your present style.'

My first tile was on an ordinary sketch book page, with an ordinary black writingpen I had in the house.  I did not have any material yet, but I loved it right a way.  After a few weeks, I went to a store and baught me some better drawing paper, so I could make tiles of 3,5" and some better and thinner black pens.   And I learned about the material after I followed my first zentangle basic course given by CZT Rita Nikolajeva in Brussels.

My first tile was with the Auraknot pattern , and I made it again in my present style.Whow, what a difference ! And I'm only practicing for a year and a half.  I hope it's the same for you all.

Valentangle

February 14th today, Valentine...

The Diva Challenge #254 is to create a Valentangle, using hearts, red,...   Time to learn some hearts-patterns, so  I used the Heartswell, Heartline, Heartvine in my piece next to Nymph flowers.  I made it a 'renaissance' tile, only using black, white, red and brown on tan paper.
I gave it to my husband, and he was flattered with it !

Chalenges Square One January 2016

Time goes quick ! It's already February 9sth, and I still have to post my tiles of January.  Here there are.

Week one: Umble
I still had a tile with a nice border of Verve, and I used it now to fill it with Umble.

Week two: Henna Drum
I love this tangle !

Week tree: Pokeleaf
A tangle I already know for a long time. I tried something different here with it.

Week four: Pepper
That's a nice pattern.  It's new to me, but I immediately love it.  I was just learning Coil when this focus came up, so you can see both in my tile.
