Baby Q

Last week a new baby elephant was born in Planckendael, with the name baby Q for now.  That reminded me of a drawing in my sketchbook I made last year in the elephant Temple of the Zoo in Antwerp. It's a kind of Oriental /Egyption inspired building for the elephants. I wanted to make a zentangle of it, but I never took the time to really do it.  So, with the new born baby I finaly wanted to create my tile.

I used the new pattern Fat Man in my tile.  Fat Man is a pattern of my own and based on the drawings and signs around the elephant temple.  You can see some pictures and the step-out for the pattern down here.

Challenges February Square One

Time to post my tiles for the Square one challenges of February.  Here they are:

First week: Quandary
While practicing Quandary, I had to think also about other 'flower' patterns, like Flutter en Flower Vine.

Second week: Well
Well... turned out to be a nice pattern with a lot of possibilities for variations.  I used two variations together with Paradox, and it turned out very WELL.

Third week: Huggins
My huggins did'nt turn out very well this week.  I made a mistake in the beginning, but as there are no mistakes in zentangle, it just turned out in another variation of Huggins.  Here together with River and Keeko.
And as we are in February.. I made another tile in my scetchbook with Huggins and Heartvine and Heartline.  I post it also here.

Fourth week: Strircles
I made a tile with Flormeoba which I love and makes me think of poppies and our summer holiday last year.  I gave it a nice contrast with the Strircles in the background.

And yet another banner

The Diva challenge #193 of this week is posted  by Holly Atwater, and we are challenged to use three patterns: Trio, Huggins and Xyp.  I did'nt know Trio en Xyp yet, and I particulary like Trio.  So much fun to draw !  I 'm sure I wil make some other tiles with it later on.

As I am still practicing with my banners, to get them beautifully curling, I wanted to make a banner with Xyp.  I took one of my tiles of the past weeks, and 'transformed' it into a tile with the patterns of this weeks challenge - it was a tile where I used Huggins so there I got my idea.  I also post my original tile bellow.

All the other tiles posted this week you can find on
