Challenges Square One December 2016
Another year did pass. Time goes so quickly, and when I look to my artwork of 2016 I can see the past year again before my eyes. My tiles and other stuff are all memories of a time period, a challenge, an event, a family time, a holiday etc. That's very nice ! It's also the reason I started with this blog, to create some memories, and to let others enjoy them too.
I post my tiles for the last challenges of December 2016.
Week 1: Reel
My Reel tile is already one in a Christmas mood
Week 2: Aura-Leah
Aura-Leah with Marisu en Puff
Week 3: Stella
Week 4: Darwings
Drawings with Flower Vine and Diva Dance to end the year.

Happy New Year 2017
By best wishes to all of you for 2017 !
I made some personalised greeting cards with some wishes for the New Year for all my nieces and cousins - 9 in total. I made a zentangle with the first letter of there names. They where all very pleased with there cards when I gave them on the first of January - with some pocket money as is the habit in our family. And I had to make 2 more of them for my own daughters, when they saw me creating the other tiles.
I post all the lovely cards here.

Mandalas by Ben Kwok
I already follow the zentangle group Ornation Creation of Ben Kwok for a while (Facebook Ornation Creation). He publishes each week an amazing template you can use for your zentangle work. I already made some animals using his templates, you can find them earlier on my blog. Now I decided to use some mandala templates. Oh that was quite a challenge ! But I like the results very much. I hope you enjoy them too.

Reticula Challenge #295
The Diva Challenge this week (#295) is the same as the previous week, so to use a grid as base and fill it up with a design of your own. The challenge is to make a 'Reticula' tile. I did not participate last week, but I decided to go for it this week and I had some free time this afternoon. My daughter invited a friend for playing this afternoon, so more free time for me !
For this week's challenge we have to choose a design that is asymmetrical. Then alternate the design inside the grid - creating another more complex pattern!

Tête Cubiste from Marthe Donas
A few weeks ago, there was a picture of one of the works of Marthe Donas (1885 - 1967) in the newspaper, as an advertisement for an exhibition in BOZAR (Brussels). Immediately as I saw it, I wanted to make a zentangle drawing of it.
This work from her Avant Garde period is 'Tête Cubiste' (1917), and it is exposed for the moment in the BOZAR in Brussels. My husband and I are going to see the exhibition soon. It took a while before it was finished, because I'm not used to work on this large format (27 x 36cm). But I'm pleased with the result.
And here the original.
